Coda: Why I'm Putting this Blog on Hiatus

When I started this blog on August 5 of this year, I wasn’t exactly sure what direction I wanted it to go in. However, what I’ve realized after almost two months of writing blog posts is that I now believe that I have accomplished what I had in mind when I began posting: To make a clear-cut and extensively researched case for why I believe it’s entirely likely that Donald Trump is in fact the end times Antichrist.

This post, then, will mark what I see as a coda for that effort. I think that now is the right time for me to put this blog on a (perhaps permanent) hiatus. Let me explain a bit further why I think this is the right next step.

My goal here has not been to do what many online creators and influencers do. Most accounts that you see on social media (YouTube, X, Instagram, etc.) are devoted to building up a public profile for the author himself or herself. Here, I consider it entirely immaterial whether anyone knows about my full identity or the circumstances of my life. The overriding purpose of this site is simply to map out in clear and exact terms why I believe one could make a strong case that Trump is the end times figure we are looking for: no more and no less. If I have gotten some readers to consider that case and weigh the evidence (in the process, I hope, of bringing them to a saving faith in the gospel of Christ), then I will consider my objectives achieved.

Another thing that online influencers and creators tend to do nowadays is to steadily release updates (posts, videos, graphics, etc.) that serve as a sort of “drip-drip-drip” of information every few days. The main reason why they do this is obvious: They want to build and maintain a large base of followers, from which they often tend to monetize their popularity, in the form of YouTube ads, merchandise, speaking gigs, etc. Here, I want to state for the record that I have absolutely no interest in monetizing my public platform in any way. I have deliberately chosen a medium (long-form blog posts) that demands close attention and careful engagement with scholarly research and biblical texts. Because we now live in a hyper-partisan ‘attention economy’ that often values rapid-fire clicks, ‘likes,’ and replies over careful engagement with the substance of long-form texts, it’s entirely likely, then, that this website won’t ‘go viral’. And honestly, that’s fine with me.

I also have begun to realize that concision is itself a virtue when you’re trying to convince people about something important. In other words, there is inherent value in *not* encouraging new readers of my site to wade through dozens of posts that, while potentially interesting, add little new to the main outline of the case I’ve been making. In that spirit, I think that limiting this blog to these fourteen posts will encourage visitors to the blog to not get discouraged or overwhelmed by the breadth of information presented to them (which is, honestly, less important to me than the accuracy and convincingness of the information presented to them).

With this fourteenth post over the course of almost two months, I believe that I have made the case that it’s entirely likely that Trump is the scriptural figure we’ve been looking for. And if it eventually turns out that I’m wrong, I will absolutely admit that I’ve been on the wrong track. I’ve been wrong plenty of times in the past, and, as I keep mentioning in various disclaimers throughout my posts, I haven’t been claiming to possess a crystal ball which would allow me to 100% predict the future.

So, if you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading my work, and I encourage you to share the link to this blog on social media outlets (which is something I will also continue to do). And if you have any feedback, please feel free to leave comments beneath any of my posts.

I feel like I’ve given everyone (even newbies to Bible study) the tool-kit that they need in order to discern what prophetic events we should be seeing as these weeks, months and years arise in the near future – even if it happens to turn out that Trump *isn’t* the man we’ve been looking for. And if I start adding posts again, there will have to be some overwhelmingly necessary reason for me to do so. I’ll wrap this up by encouraging you to follow the news closely in the future, for it is in the news that we will be able to verify whether the scenarios that I’ve mapped out on this site eventually turn out to be accurate or not.
