Why Haven't the Two Witnesses Shown Up Yet?

Image
Revelation 11 features one of the more mysterious sections in the entire book of Revelation - a book that is itself a non-linear collection of figurative images, vignettes, metaphors and poetic descriptions, none of which are meant to serve as literal descriptions of exactly what things will look like on the ground during the Tribulation period. In this post, I am going to dig for a bit into what prophecy researchers have investigated as the question of the Two Witnesses . As in my initial post about the many links between Trump and the biblical figure of the Antichrist, and as I also did in my post looking into whether Elon Musk could be a candidate for the role of the False Prophet, here I am going to start with a detailed analysis of what the imagery and diction suggest to us about how to interpret this chapter. Next, I’m going to hone in on several questions that might pertain to the current events we’re all living through right now.    ...

Will the Image of the Beast Itself Cause Christians to be Killed?

Image
The second beast mentioned in Revelation 13 – the “beast out of the earth,” or, as Bible prophecy researchers have taken to calling this figure, “The False Prophet” – is given authority to accomplish things that would have seemed like outlandish science fiction fantasy as recently as ten or twenty years ago. The False Prophet “gives breath” to an “image” of the first beast – the beast out of the sea, which is a figurative reference to both the Antichrist and his end-times kingdom – so that the image could both “speak” and could “cause” Christians to be killed. This is the Revised Standard Version (RSV) translation of that specific passage in Rev. 13: “it [ the False Prophet ] was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast so that the image of the beast should even speak , and to cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. 16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both ...

From Suzerainty to Sovereignty: Trump Takes Direct Control of Part of the Holy Land

Image
Reminder : If you're new to this blog, I recommend starting here - my initial post that covered the many links between Donald Trump and the biblical Antichrist.        Donald Trump has just formed something called “The Board of Peace” (BoP) to oversee reconstruction in the horrifically war-torn Gaza strip. This review from The Guardian gives a good overview of the Board’s purpose and structure, and what (if any) potential it might have to create genuine peace and security in this region that has been afflicted by strife for many decades.            When viewing this development through the lens of Bible prophecy, what is remarkable is that this Board – of which Donald Trump is the Chairman – might be fulfilling a key prophecy from Daniel 11, which states that the end-times Antichrist will come to Israel and exert direct sovereignty there. Here’s that relevant passage:          “4...

“Greatness”: A Quality Frequently Associated with the Antichrist

Image
Reminder : If you're new to this blog, start here with my initial post that lists the many links between Donald Trump and the Bible's Antichrist .     The word “great” is strongly associated with Donald Trump. Of course, his trademark MAGA baseball caps feature the words “Make America Great Again” (or, in a less frequently used variant, “Keep America Great”). Trump’s vocabulary, which is limited, also often resorts to the word “great” whenever Trump wants to effusively praise someone or something (usually himself). Additionally, the acronym MAHA – “Make America Healthy Again,” originated by Robert Kennedy Jr., Trump’s health secretary – actually is a Sanskrit word meaning “great” (as in the word Maharaja ). This article from the Times of India analyzed the number of times the word “great” appeared in Trump’s speech to Congress last year, and found that “great” appeared 33 times in the speech, one of the most-frequently used words in the speech (two other...

Jesus's Olivet Discourse and the Antichrist

Image
Reminder : If you're new to my blog, I recommend starting here with my initial post listing the many links between Donald Trump and the scriptural figure known as the Antichrist.                   One of the most important sources for end times prophecy is what’s called Jesus’s Olivet Discourse (discourse on the Mount of Olives). In this post, I am going to carefully review what Jesus tells us in three chapters of the synoptic gospels – Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 – and analyze how they might relate to what we know about Donald Trump and the beast government system he appears to be steadily implementing day by day.                 Bible scholars believe that the Gospel of Mark was a source for the other two synoptic gospels, Matthew and Luke. The Olivet Discourse is reflected in similar language in each of the three chapte...
