Is Trump the Antichrist?
Is Trump the Antichrist?
I propose to show below that Trump checks a bunch of boxes that connect him to the figure the Bible calls 'the Man of Sin' and 'the Beast'. However, I'm not claiming 100% certainty that Trump is indeed that figure. I'm merely asking the question, and proposing for your consideration what amounts to a giant amount of evidence pointing in that direction.
If Trump were to die in office or get impeached or something, nothing would change about this fact: He has been acting in exactly the ways you would expect the Antichrist to act for the past 6+ months in office for his second term, methodically laying the groundwork for the future beast system that will entrap people in a global matrix of control.
Preliminary: How the Bible describes the Antichrist
It's first necessary to lay out some groundwork by outlining the elements any person would have to display in order for him to be considered a contender for this biblical role. According to the Bible, the Antichrist will:
- "Make war on the saints" (Daniel 7) by imprisoning and causing to be killed a number of Christians
- Mandate use of the "mark of the beast" (Revelation 13), which will be necessary in order to purchase and sell goods
- Confirm a "covenant with many" (Daniel 9), which is a peace deal between Israel and its neighbors in the Middle East
- Have his name and/or identity connected in some way to the number 666
- Exercise global authority for 42 months (Revelation 13)
- Be a globally powerful military/political leader who leads a 'revived Roman empire' that controls how events shape up in the Middle East (Revelation 13)
- Be a flatterer of the Jews and Israel, before later becoming their betrayer and persecutor (Daniel 11)
- Match the archetypes set out by two particular leaders in history: Antiochus IV Epiphanes of the ancient Seleucid empire (Daniel), and Nero of the ancient Roman empire (Revelation)
- Be so vainglorious and arrogant as to boast that he himself is God (2 Thessalonians 2)
These are only a handful of traits any Antichrist candidate would need to display in order to be considered a candidate for identification as the Man of Sin. There are more we could consider, but let's focus on keeping the ones above at the center of our inquiry, because even if *one* of the traits above fails to be displayed by a candidate, the case for that candidate being the Man of Sin will fail. *All* of the traits above must be shown publicly before we can consider our case justified.
With that out of the way, let's simply go down the list and ask ourselves whether Trump has checked off these boxes.
1) Has Trump made "war on the saints" (Daniel 7) by imprisoning and causing to be killed a number of Christians?
Answer: No, not yet. However, during this second term, Trump has been steadily putting in place a system of control in the United States that would give him the authority to act in this way were he to choose to. Trump has:
* Signed an executive order decreeing that homeless people can be detained and imprisoned much more easily (a decree that could easily apply to people on the streets protesting Trump's rule)
* Initiated the construction of concentration camps in places like Florida and Texas, ostensibly to house illegal immigrants as their deportation procedures are pending (structures that could easily be used to house political prisoners and Christian protesters in the future)
* Signed a bill which will lead to billions more in funding for ICE, which will have thousands of additional agents acting on the President's authority (authority which could easily be used to arrest political prisoners and Christian protesters in the future)
* Amassed state-level data on people at the federal level, allowing agencies to much more easily track them (this has been for the ostensible purpose of identifying illegal immigrants, but the new information could easily be used in the future to track future Christian protesters)
So, although the mousetrap hasn't entrapped us yet, these ominous developments could be portending the fulfillment of this prophecy. It's something to keep an eye on for sure.
2) Has Trump mandated use of the "mark of the beast" (Revelation 13), which the Bible says will be necessary in order to buy and sell goods worldwide?
Answer: No, not yet. However, during this second term, Trump has laid the groundwork for rolling out a "digital dollar" which might be implemented in the future. This 'stablecoin' legislation (the GENIUS Act) has been accompanied by occasional pledges to potentially send 'tariff dividends' back to voters. A "digital dollar," if it were rolled out and used worldwide, might indeed qualify as a 'mark of the beast.' Additionally, Trump and the HHS are rolling out trackable wearable tech like bracelets and watches, to encourage people to opt in to monitoring of their health data. This wearable tech might also play a role in the mark of the beast.
It's not entirely clear exactly what the mark of the beast will consist of. Will it be a cryptocurrency, a bracelet, a tattoo or some other identifying marker of participation in the global economy, like a vaccine passport? In any case, we can say with some degree of certainty that an American president would be in an ideal position for rolling out such a mark on a worldwide basis, considering the global power and influence wielded by the United States.
3) Has Trump confirmed/expanded a 'covenant with many' in the Middle East between Israel and its neighbors (Daniel 9)?
Answer: No, not yet, but Trump and his envoy Steve Witkoff are working very hard at expanding the Abraham Accords to include more countries. The Abraham Accords are the normalization treaties that Trump signed with several MENA nations during his first term, and there is much talk of an imminent expansion of these accords to include other nations in the region, potentially even historically alienated nations such as Saudi Arabia and Syria. We're not there yet, but we could indeed be on the cusp of some such solution to the Gaza war, which is incurring resistance and global protest on a scale never seen before with regard to Israel's actions. The Bible predicts a global wave of antisemitism and protest of Israel's actions (see Zechariah 12), and that is exactly what we've started to see.
4) Is Trump's name or identity connected in some way to the number 666?
Answer: Potentially. The numbers 616 (incl. in some ancient manuscripts) and 666 were utilized by John the Revelator in order to silently encode reference to the emperor Nero, since his transliterated name (Nero Kaisar or Neron Kaisar) came out to those numbers in gematria. Interestingly, this numerical result was only attained by deleting the vowels in these names (since Hebrew lacks vowels). Similarly, "Donald J. Trump" (which comes out to 888 in English gematria) - if the vowels get deleted ("Dnld J. Trmp"), we get 666 in English gematria. Bingo. That connection might seem tenuous and too much of a stretch, but the many other connections between Nero and Trump (see below) suggest that utilizing a process such as this to calculate 666 might indeed work out. Result: Uncertain, but possible.
5) Has Trump exercised global authority for 42 months, or is he on the way to exercising such authority (Revelation 13)?
Answer: Uncertain. Trump's global tariff regime has been implemented in an effort to force all other countries to bend to his will. If they do something that he doesn't like, he will slap huge tariffs on their country's goods. So in a way we might answer that, yes, a sort of global authority is being exercised. However, other evidence suggests that we might not (*yet*) be in that 42 month period: Trump has been trying unsuccessfully to end the wars in Gaza and Ukraine, which suggests that he doesn't truly operate global authority in such a way that his actions determine global events. Result: Uncertain, but possible, particularly in the future.
6) Is Trump a globally powerful military/political leader who leads a 'revived Roman empire' that controls how events shape up in the Middle East (Revelation 13)?
Answer: Yes, this looks like a good match. The United States is the only force in the world that wields a global empire of military bases in the same way that the ancient Roman empire did. Furthermore, the U.S. wields tremendous suzerainty in the Middle East through its use of Israel as a proxy for combating terrorists, keeping shipping lanes open, and maintaining a steady supply of fossil fuels for the global economy. Trump is indeed a powerful military/political leader of whom the nations ask, "Who can make war" on him (Revelation 13). Furthermore, Washington D.C. sits on seven hills and the city used to be called Rome, making it a good match for the Mystery Babylon described in Revelation 17 and 18. Trump's 'Make America Great Again' baseball caps feature "America...(the) Great" written on the forehead, a direct match with Mystery Babylon in Revelation 17. Mystery Babylon is identified as the global persecutor of the saints and the entity that sheds Christians' blood and imprisons them, making number 1 above a more strongly reinforced match.
7) Is Trump a flatterer of the Jews and Israel, before later becoming their betrayer and persecutor (Daniel 11)?
Answer: Too early to tell, but the warning signs are glaringly obvious. Trump is a deceptive and vindictive person who only uses people for as long as they submit to his own dictates. After he has lost use for them, he casts them aside and in some cases pursues an agenda of retribution against them. Trump has heretofore been a steady flatterer of the Jewish people, but he lets the mask slip occasionally by making an antisemitic remark or by identifying himself with Nazis and white supremacists. Unlike with Hitler, who proclaimed his antisemitic beliefs and intentions consistently from early on, the Antichrist will start out looking like a friend of the Jewish people but he will secretly harbor intentions of deceiving and attacking them at a later date. It's looking more and more to be the case that Trump is a close match for this trait.
8) Does Trump match the archetypes set out by two particular leaders in history: Antiochus IV Epiphanes of the ancient Seleucid empire (Daniel), and Nero of the ancient Roman empire (Revelation)?
Answer: Too early to tell, but the connections (particularly in the case of Nero) are manifold and obvious. Read these two pages carefully and really marinate on how incredible it is that the Nero Redivivus (Reborn or reincarnated) myth is seemingly playing out right in front of our eyes:
https://penelope.uchicago.edu/encyclopaedia_romana/gladiators/nero.html
https://www.birdyslade.com/post/ai-found-31-shocking-parallels-between-trump-and-nero-here-they-are
9) Has Trump been so vainglorious and arrogant as to boast that he himself is God (2 Thessalonians 2)?
Answer: Potentially so. Although this moment was little-noticed at the time, many have been pointing out that this retweet of a quote calling him 'the second coming of God' may in fact technically count as a fulfillment of this prophecy:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-tweets-quote-calling-him-the-second-coming-of-god-to-jews-in-israel/
Some argue against this by pointing out that the vainglorious declaration of godhood needs to take place in a rebuilt Third Temple in Jerusalem. Now, I'm not ruling out that this may be a future possibility. However, some claim that the 'temple of God in 2 Thess. 2 is better understood not as a physically rebuilt temple, but rather as the body of Christ (identified as the new temple of God in 1 Peter and in other NT passages). Whichever it is, this retweet is significant no matter how you look at it.
Additionally I want to point to two other Bible prophecies about the Antichrist and make the case for why Trump may have already fulfilled them:
* Revelation 6:2 describes an ancient Roman triumph (parade), where the emperor comes into Rome on a white horse and parades his enemies in cages, getting crowned with a 'stephanos' or laurel wreath. I do believe that this first seal may have been broken on June 14, 2025 when Trump held a military parade in his own honor, on his own birthday. This event corresponded closely with a 'victory' with the bunker buster bombings in Iran, and the Supreme Court's granting of him expanded executive authority to bypass the Constitution without facing nationwide injunctions by lower courts (a sort of metaphorical 'granting of the crown'). Additionally it should be noted that the word 'trump' comes from the French 'triomphe,' which means 'triumph' (an ancient Roman triumph is described in Rev. 6:2). 'Donald' means 'world ruler,' so 'Donald Trump' means 'world leader's triumph'. Conclusion: Still uncertain but quite possible, even likely, as a fulfillment/match of prophecy.
* Zechariah 11:16 describes the Antichrist (false shepherd) as not caring for the weak or the hungry, and actually acting so as to lead to people's deaths. I believe this prophecy *may* have been fulfilled with passage of the Big Beautiful Bill, which started out as a 1,116 page document (number matching Zechariah *11:16* in the House) initially as the bill in the House of Representatives. This bill, which Trump signed, cut Medicaid, closed hospitals in rural areas, supported the use of gun silencers, and cut SNAP/EBT benefits to poor people, in addition to expanding ICE's budget exponentially (see #1 above). Conclusion: Quite possible but still a bit hazy/uncertain.
What can we conclude after reviewing all of the connections/possible fulfillments listed above? I believe we can tentatively conclude the following:
- Even if Trump dies or gets impeached or his term ends in 2028, with him leaving the White House voluntarily, he has *already* acted in a plethora of ways to indicate that he may in fact be what the Bible calls the Man of Sin or the Beast. Although 100% identification may not be possible until he crosses certain Rubicons (like mandating use of the mark, or confirming the Middle East covenant, or starting work on a third temple - all events that may come towards the end of the Antichrist's rule), what we can say with some degree of confidence is that *if Trump isn't the Antichrist, he's been doing the best impression of that figure heretofore that the world has ever seen*. No other figure currently on the global scene comes close to checking all these boxes. And it's worthwhile to point that out and comment on it, no doubt. I caution against declaring him to be that figure with complete certainty yet (it could be that although Trump has laid the groundwork for the Antichrist, he is not that figure himself, but rather has set the table for someone like Musk, Vance, etc. to assume the role), but if he is indeed that demonic beast, knowing the information above will at least give us some forewarning to know what to look for and what to expect in the future. The Bible tells us to 'watch' as we approach the Day of the Lord, so we will be prepared.
The above has been written in accordance with that commandment to watch and be prepared.
Maranatha - Jesus, come!
